At the age of ten, Reverend Doctor Jarvis J. Hanson accepted the call to preach the unadulterated truths of the gospel and began the cultivation process of stewardship at the United Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Dr. John N. Coleman. Under the tutelage and leadership of Dr. L.D. Tate of Rockford, Illinois, he continued to receive provision and became an ordained minister by the United Faith Baptist Church in November of 2006. Rev. Hanson embarked on facilitating discipleship and served as Interim Pastor of the New Direction Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Rockford, IL from March 2000- August 2000 at the age of 16.

Embracing education, personal development, and various opportunities for spiritual growth, Rev. Hanson has studied at the following institutions; Moody Bible Institute, Lay Bible Institute, Northern Theological Seminary and Atlantic Coast Theological Seminary. Rev. Hanson has received a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Newburgh Bible College, a Masters Degree from Lake Charles Theological Seminary. With the fervor to produce developed and equipped followers, he earned another Masters degree in Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry from St. Thomas Christian University.

Exalting the Savior, edifying the saints, and evangelizing the sinner, Rev. Hanson is currently the pastor of the historic New Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, IL, and can be heard along with the New Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church Mass Choir every Sunday at 3:00 p.m. on radio station WBGX am 1570 or Gospelradio1570.com

He is an active participant in his local, state, and national denominational work serving as; Director of the Young Pastors Division of Baptist General State Convention of Illinois, Second Vice Moderator of The Greater New Era Baptist District Association, Professor of Homiletics at the Chicago Baptist Institute International, and is a member of the Baptist General State Convention of Illinois and the National Baptist Convention U.S.A. Inc. He is a highly sought after evangelist that travels throughout the nation preaching, teaching, and lecturing throughout the state of Illinois and many other states.

Rev. Hanson always refers to his verse of inspiration that keeps him humbled and grounded in the work of ministry “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;” I Tim 1:12)

A native of Rockford, IL, Rev. Hanson was born on May 27, 1984, to Deacon and Deaconess Donald Hanson. He is married to Sister Brandy Thomas Hanson, He has 3 siblings: Veronica Blake, Pastor. Donald (Latrisha) Hanson II, Kwasi Hanson, and one nephew Kwasi Hanson II and niece Taurasi Hanson
